Hotel

We’ve booked our hotel! We decided not to stay right in London, and rather, stay in Barnet, North London at a gorgeous little B&B called Glenlyn Hotel!

Though we’ll have to commute to get into London, we’ll get to experience a bit of the countryside.

We were approached by another hotel in the city, City Marque, with a discount to book a room at one of their apartments, but unfortunately even with the discount, the cost was still more than we can afford right now.

As much as we appreciated the offer, I think we’re happier in the long run with the decision we’ve made.  We’ll see if hindsight chances that later 😉

Kim’s Crocheted Creations

Kim Webster, of KsCrochetedCreations has been crocheting for over 20 years. She is graciously donating her time & work of a replica crocheted version of Tom Baker’s 12ft scarf to be donated for an auction at the event.

Its an Ashton

Richard Ashton is the latest to join the team for the event. Richard was cast as David Tennant’s body double for the new Virgin Media Adverts. He’s also a producer of high quality props for the industry as well as personal collection. For the event, Richard will be making the head piece of the Prydonian Minister who was played by Tom Baker in the Deadly Assasin. This head piece will be worn by the Minister preforming the ceremony.

Reversed Polarity

Coming up on November 1st-3rd will be Canada’s official Doctor Who 50th Anniversary celebration, featuring guests such as the 5th Doctor himself, Peter Davidson, as well as Dan Starkey (Strax). The event will be taking place at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Toronto.

Interview With Kate Eggins Update

Sadly on Tuesday, two other reporters called in sick, so Kate was pulled away for other news stories. BUT, We’ll be getting together with her on Monday, October 21st to do our interview! Also if I’m not mistaken, it will be airing that same day during the evening news at 6pm! So stay tuned!

Passports Are In!

Last Tuesday I went into work with Brandon so we could filed our passports. Much to our surprise, considering the way most things are handled with anything that involves the Canadian Government, they arrived exactly a week later! I’m so excited to finally have these! Not only because.. HOLY SHIT WE’RE GOING TO ENGLAND! But because now when my friends go across the boarder to shop, I can go too! 😀

Picked Our Flights, But No Money to Book

We’ve found the perfect flights & airline we want to book…But no money to book it. This is honestly the worst situation out of all of this. We need $3200 asap, and absolutely no way to get it. Not sure how we’re going to do this…

If booking flights was like booking a hotel, where you could book now & pay at pick up.. Sure it would make life at the actual airport a little more hellish than I’ve heard it is, but it would be so much easier for us poor folk.
